The new track from SuperDre crosses Techno thuds with future bass breakdowns for a sum total of one damn captivating track.

To say I love this band would be, simply an understatement. TV on the Radio have grown from their humble two-member original line up to a full line-up of five with contributors like David Bowie stepping into the studio too. They are a band that you need to grow with, a group challenging themselves as much as their audience and you can hear that effort on the records to boot.
Their newest album, 'Nine Types of Light' is set for release this April via Interscope/4AD and the past ten years have been good to the band sonically as their sound has grown into a genre all their own.
The album's opener, oddly named 'Second Song' builds and swings with echoes of INXS and Prince. 'Keep Your Heart' is another classic love dirge from the band, laying out a story of a hearts intentions.
Wild horn sections match the dual energy of Kyp and Tunde's tandem vocals on 'No Future Shock.' The album was recorded out in California and you can almost smell the Pacific in each song- just the gentle kiss of salt water on your lips as you glide over cliffs and shoreline with the 'Killer Crane' and its wilting string section.
Whether it be a synth-laden driving song or an aggressive holler, the band has created a watermark on music for years to come with their infinite types of light.
Groundislava is an up and coming producer from the depths of Los Angeles, producing stutter step 8-bit beats to help cruising in the warm weather that much easier. His debut album features remixes from Young Montana?, Clive Tanaka and guests Shlohmo, JonWayne and Jake Weary. The only thing that remains a mystery to me is whether I'm supposed to write his production moniker as one word or three.
After a well-received free EP giveaway in early '11, Groundislava's self-titled debut LP + 7" is scheduled for release on 4/19 through the always on point Friends of Friends Music label.

I've been following Splatinum for a while now. They've toyed in nearly all of my favorite sounds at this point, whether it be 2-Step, Future Bass or Dubstep (the good kind). I'd really love to bring them to New Orleans at some point in the future. To get you all interested check out this mix Adam put together for Spring time.

DJ T. is a living legend as far as I'm concerned. He possesses a flawless sense for taste in dance music whether it be in his track selections in DJ sets, his production or the output Get Physical has been on for the last six years or so.
His second full length, 'The Pleasure Principle' just dropped from Get Physical and features collaborations with vocalists Dave Aju, Jaw (dOP), James Teej, Khan, Nick Maurer and Cari Golden.
Preview his album here. And check out a DJ mix below.
DJ T. - Welcome 2011 - Big Room Mix by DJT.
Some free beats and soundscapes from Shankles. Touches right in the heart of the realm of what is making heads nod in the underground these days. Little bit of Four Tet, little bit of Alex B.
Ideally the audio would be better. I suggest watching this on mute. This was only the second time Daedelus has performed with Archimedes. Archimedes is the moving wall of mirrors and lights behind him by the way.
This was just one segment of many that occurred over the weekend that made the first SXNO, something to talk about until next years line up is announced.

It just doesn't get any more simple and perfect than this video. Aloe Blacc is bringing back soul, one step at a time.

For those that were not digging deep in the 'electronic' section of their local record store around 2001, Daedelus first hit the bins around that time. I recall picking up 12"s off Prefuse 73's label Eastern Developments and I'm thinking I have at least one from Plug Research. To celebrate his 10 years off dropping intricate and inventive beats on his he is both, embarking on a tour and releasing a new album. 'Bespoke' which features Baths, Bilal, Busdriver and many more due April 26th on heavyweight Ninja Tune.
And most importantly, Daedelus is coming through to New Orleans for the first annual SXNO Festival dedicated to the advancement of Electronic & Dance Music.

Daedelus - Tailor-Made feat. Milosh (TOKiMONSTA Remix) by Ninja Tune
If you're into quality House music, then chances are, you've already caught a few edits, remixes or original productions by Wolverhampton-reared, Birmingham-based DJ/producer Mark E. Last year, his stunning remix of Matthew Dear’s “Little People (Black City)” introduced him to the Ghostly/Spectral fold and now the label has arranged for the release of his debut full length 'Stone Breaker.'
With the return to classic and precise production coming from producers like Mark E, Nicolas Jaar, Wolf + Lamb and Soul Clap- it would seem House music is reaching back to its roots, which makes me want to throw my hands in the air and thank the heavens we are finally getting over the progressive/electro garbage that's been flooding the culture for the past ten years.
I am looking forward to this album and I think you should too.
Big thanks to Spectral for releasing this album on a double LP, something they failed to do with 'Black City.'
